Possibly the greatest female driver in Grand Prix motor racing history was Eliska Junkova. Junkova was a Czechoslovakian racer and a competitive driver, even winning a Grand Prix event in the male-dominated sport. She got her start when her husband hurt his hand and couldn’t shift gears. Junkova took the wheel in his place, and the rest is history!
