The song ‘Jingle Bells’ was actually written to commemorate the famed Medford sleigh races that took place during Thanksgiving. The song was written in 1857 by James Lord Pierpont and was originally called ‘One Horse Open Sleigh’. ‘Jingle Bells’ was also the first song broadcasted from space!
