The first Thanksgiving was celebrated in the autumn of 1621. 50 pilgrims and 90 Wampanoag Indians were in attendance and the feast lasted for three days! Historians believe that only five women were present. It was a woman, Sarah Josepha Hale, who convinced President Lincoln to make Thanksgiving a national holiday 200 years later!
