Interesting fact:

TV dinners came about in 1953 because Swanson had so much turkey (a whooping 260 tonnes) left over after the holidays. A salesman suggested that they package the turkey into small aluminium trays with side dishes like sweet potatoes and green beans and voila, the TV dinner was created.
