Animals with hooves are called ungulates and are typically herbivores. They are broken down further into even-toed ungulates such as pigs, camels, and deer; and odd-toed ungulates such as horses and rhinos. Whales and dolphins are also considered ungulates even though they are without hooves, which means pigs and dolphins share a common ancestor that possessed the hooved feature. Technically speaking, all life shares a common ancestor – the first eukaryotic cells.
