In Greek mythology, Pegasus was a winged divine stallion that was born when Medusa was defeated by Perseus. He was pure white in color and helped Bellerophon defeat the Chimera. When Pegasus’s rider fell off his back in trying to reach Mount Olympus, Zeus transformed the stallion into a constellation.
