In 1969, the US government wanted to cut funding for public television. The beloved Mister Rogers traveled to Washington D.C and spoke before the senate, asking them not to cut funding. Though the budget should have been decreased, it increased after Mr. Rogers's speech from 9 to 22 million dollars!
