Interesting fact:

Despite its complexity, the eye is far from perfect. There are no photo-receptors where the optical nerve meets the eyeball, which is at the centre of the area where light from the outside is projected on. This results in a blind spot, and the eyes have to shiver constantly to correct for this flaw.
