Interesting fact:

The pine marten has been credited with curbing the encroachment of the invasive grey squirrel species in parts of Ireland. The grey squirrel, not native to the British Isles, is a far more of an aggressive and ugly squirrel which has led to the decline of the much lovelier red squirrel, so let’s all say a big thank you to the pine marten. Bravo!
