The 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama, was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2009 in Oslo, Norway. In total, four US Presidents have received the Nobel Peace Prize; Barack Obama, Jimmy Carter, Woodrow Wilson, and Theodore Roosevelt. Only one vice president has received the honor, Al Gore, for his environmental advocacy. The first to win it was Theodore Roosevelt in 1906.
